The Bustano area is located in the southern part of Hormozgan Province, west of Bandar Abbas, within the Folded Zagros structural zone; it features outcrops of igneous rocks belonging to the Hormuz Series (Late Neoproterozoic – Early Cambrian) associated with the Gachin salt dome. The felsic intrusive rocks at the margin of this salt dome have been investigated from petrographic and geochemical perspectives. These rocks exhibit a predominantly hypidiomorphic-granular texture, accompanied by subordinate perthitic, micrographic, and myrmekitic textures; they are composed of alkali feldspar, quartz, plagioclase, biotite, and green hornblende, along with accessory zircon, apatite, titanite, and opaque minerals. Geochemical data indicate SiO₂ contents of 70.51–75.47 wt.% and Na₂O + K₂O values of 6.78–8.76 wt.%. Based on their classification, these rocks fall into the granite and granodiorite categories. They are magnesian, calc-alkaline to alkali-calcic, and metaluminous to weakly peraluminous in nature. Geochemical characteristics—including LILE enrichment, negative Nb-Ta-Ti and Sr-Eu anomalies, a moderately steep REE pattern ((La/Yb)N = 5–15), and a flat HREE profile—indicate subduction-related magmatism, plagioclase fractionation, and the absence of garnet in the source (melting at moderate pressures of 5–10 kbar). Tectonic discrimination diagrams suggest a magmatic arc setting rather than a collisional environment.
