This research has been conducted with the aim of preparing and comprehensively investigating the first database of engineering geological properties of Iranian limestones. Given the importance and extensive distribution of limestone and the high costs of field and laboratory studies, compiling existing data in the form of a coherent database is essential. For this purpose, data extracted from 86 reliable scientific sources, including theses, dissertations, articles, and technical reports, were collected and organized within an Access software framework. A total of 1,266 limestone samples from across the country were examined. The designed database, introduced as Limedata, not only provides a suitable platform for data storage and retrieval but also enables statistical and comparative analyses as well as the application of modern methods such as machine learning. In general, the results indicate that Iranian limestones, considering their physical, mechanical, dynamic, and chemical properties, collectively possess favorable conditions for use in engineering and construction projects; however, lithology, fossil structure, and geological age can cause significant differences in their behavior. The structure of the Limedata within the Access software is designed in such a way that it allows for the addition of new records, automatic updating of related tables, and expandability for incorporating future resources without the need to alter the core of the database; this capability provides the groundwork for the dynamic and continuous development of the database in subsequent research.
