Chichaklou sub-volcanic dome in the northeast of Takab with an area about 1.3 km2 is part of the Takab-Takht-e-Soleyman-Angouran sub-zone in the Sanandaj-Sirjan zone. Chichaklou sub-volcanic dome with upper Miocene-Pliocene age was intruded into the Eocene sedimentary sequence. Based on petrographical studies, this dome has dacite composition and consists of plagioclase, biotite, quartz, and hornblende phenocrysts within the fine-grained groundmass. On the petrological diagrams, rock units of the Chichaklou sub-volcanic dome have dacite and rhyodacite composition and show calc-alkaline to high-K calc-alkaline nature. Based on primitive mantle-normalized spider diagrams, samples of the Chichaklou sub-volcanic dome indicate positive anomalies of LILEs (Rb, Ba, Th, U, K, and Cs) along with negative anomalies of HFSEs (Nb, Zr, and Ti) and distinctive positive anomaly of Pb. Chondrite-normalized REE patterns demonstrate LREE enrichment compared to HREE with a ratio of (La/Yb)N between 11.99-13.58 and (La/Sm)N between 6.06-7.11, and flat HREE pattern along with distinctive negative Eu anomaly (Eu/Eu* between 0.37-0.52). Samples from the Chichaklou sub-volcanic dome demonstrate geochemical similarity with adakites and are classified as high-silica adakites. These rocks resulted from partial melting of the Lower Continental Crust with garnet amphibolite composition in a post-collisional setting.
