Abstract
The Goosheh granite body is in north of Dorud city, as a part of the Sanandaj Sirjan Zone. Petrographically, the main textures of the granites are granular, interlobate, granophyric, myrmekite, and perthitic. The rocks are predominantly composed of equigranular minerals, and the main minerals include quartz, alkali feldspar (largely perthitic microcline), plagioclase, and biotite. Minor minerals are white mica (probably phengite muscovite) and fewer amounts of allanite, zircon, and titanite. Chlorite, sericite, and calcite are common alteration products in the rocks. Petrographic observations indicate that the rocks have undergone local metasomatism as well as deformation processes. The evidence of metasomatism in the region is reflected in both mineralogical and textural characteristics. The mineralogical evidence includes the formation of inter-grained albite, chloritization of biotites (alongside small anhedral titanites), phengitic muscovite, and microcline with tartan twinning. Textural evidence includes myrmekite intergrowth textures, and the formation of perthite patches in potassium feldspars. In these granites, sodic metasomatism has led to the crystallizing of anhedral albites. Deformation evidence is characterized by the presence of GBM, SGR, and BLG microstructures in quartz and between plagioclase and biotite, as well as kinking in plagioclase and biotite minerals. Moreover, the calcite deformation twins are classified as type I and II, showing a temperature range of 200-300 °C and is consistent with the deformation evidence. Based on the mineral chemistry of chlorite, the temperature of metasomatization is about 310 °C. Overall, the evidence shows that Goosheh granite rocks have significantly experienced both metasomatism and ductile deformation, likely occurring during the Upper Tertiary in the area.
